Dual Cultivation

  • One day course discussing the teachings of Daoist Dual Cultivation by Damo Mitchell

  • June 16th 2017

Daoism is a pragmatic tradition that encompasses all aspects of a persons life. The teachings of Daoism include instruction on exercise, food, health, lifestyle and even sex. Unlike many other eastern traditions that demonise love making and partnerships, Daoism has a very complete set of teachings on what is a natural part of the vast majority of healthy adults lives. sadly in modern times many of these teachings are either completely misunderstood or, worse, distorted to suit the preferences of many internal arts teachers.

On this one day event Damo Mitchell will be discussing the sexual teachings of Daoism which are more accurately known as ‘dual cultivation’ methods. Through theoretical discussion and instruction of these methods it is hoped that students will gain a complete and rounded understanding of the nature of dual cultivation within the Daoist tradition. Teachings will include couples Qi Gong practice, the energetic nature of love and partnership, exorcising past relationships and the energetic nature of intercourse. These exercises and teachings will be placed in the context of maintaining health and a loving relationship rather than simply an alchemical framework as many of these teachings are often presented.

Course Prerequisites

Note that this is not a course that is open to the public. It is listed as level 2 though we will also allow students to come who have been in the school for 2 years or more even if they are working through our level 1 material. If unsure of this please ask us when you book on.

The Nei Gong process taught by Damo Mitchell and Lotus Nei Gong is a classical process and is, at times, very strong. For this reason we do not recommend that anybody with psychological disorders or those with serious medical issues/needs attend these events. There are many ‘medical’ Qi Gong schools out there that would be more appropriate for these kinds of needs. Nei Gong is also not suitable for pregnant women or anybody under the age of 18 years old. Lastly we reserve the right to ask any student to leave the training immediately if we deem the training to be unsuitable for them or a risk to their well-being.
